We have a wide array of speech and debate programs at our summer locations in Newton, Lexington, Acton, and Manhattan, or Online via Zoom!
This program is designed for students in rising grades 7-10. During the course students will learn how to debate in the style of Congressional Debate. The program will culminate in a mock legislative session where students will debate pieces of legislation about current policy issues with their peers.
This program is for students in rising grades 4-6 who are trying public speaking for the first time. Students will research and write a Ted Talk on the topic of their choosing, and learn to deliver that speech confidently to an audience!
This course is designed for students in rising grades 7-10. During the program, students will pick a topic they are passionate about and write their own speech. Students will develop a unique presentation style of their own and perform their speech for the class.
This program is designed for students in rising grades 7-10. Students will learn how to debate Public Forum Debate, which is the primary format at high school tournaments in the US. The program concludes with a 2-day debate tournament where students put all their skills to use!
This is our advanced program, designed for students in rising grades 7-10 that have already learned the fundamentals of debate. Students will learn about more advanced debate techniques and skills and then debate in our end of session tournament.
This programs is designed for students in rising grades 5-9. Students will be grouped based on age and experience and learn the basics of debate, including cross examination, rebuttals, researching, and using evidence. The program will culminate in a short-format debate tournament on the final day.
