The perfect way to try out public speaking in a fun 1-week session.

This year, we have four different EXPLORE programs to choose from: Public Speaking – students learn about the basics of communication, including body language, tone, speaking confidence, posture, and speech structure. Model United Nations – students learn about foreign policy, diplomacy, and negotiations, in addition to public speaking skills. Mock Trial – students learn about the law, practice courtroom etiquette, and practice their presentation skills as they play different roles in a court case. Entrepreneurship – this program focuses on business communication as students learn to field questions, give powerpoint presentations, and explain their ideas to an audience.

Improvisational and Persuasive Speaking

From pitching to future employers to advocating for one’s grade with teachers, students are tested to think on their feet all the time. By navigating topics like “convincing Syria to act politically from the perspective of China”, and pitching million ideas to “investors”, students develop the confidence to formulate points and make tactical decisions in split seconds.

All our programs guarantee a 6:1 student teacher ratio, which means that your child will get lots of individualized coaching and attention.

Students will learn about different types of speeches - from argumentative, to informative, to impromptu!

Negotiations and Compromises

Students must collaborate with teammates and engage with opposition. They may charge their language to appeal to ethos, pathos, and logos. Or, they may strategically concede certain arguments in order to reach their higher level goals. By understanding of nuances of every player’s perspective, they are able to reach audience with all backgrounds and agendas.

All our programs guarantee a 6:1 student teacher ratio, which means that your child will get lots of individualized coaching and attention.

Especially in public speaking, students have to learn that mistakes are OK, as long as they keep on going and give it their best shot!
