Summer 2022 In-Person Orientation Info

Location Address: In the graphic above you can find the pickup and drop off locations for our various programs.

Contact information: If you ever have any questions about your session, please contact Glory Eke at gloryeke@lumosdebate.com.

Dropoff/Pickup: Class starts at 9 am and ends at 4 pm. Lumos Debate signs will be posted and staff members on hand to greet (and direct students) upon arrival. We ask that students arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the session and be picked up promptly at 4 pm.

Lunch and Snacks: Students do need to bring their own drinks, lunch and snacks. We ask that students do not bring any foods with peanuts or tree nuts due to allergy concerns. Lumos is a nut-free program.

Health Concerns: If your child requires any medication to be taken during workshop hours or any medical devices (i.e. inhalers or EpiPens), please let us know as soon as possible. Also let us know if you have any health or allergy concerns for your child.

Required Materials: Paper, Pens/Pencils, and a Notebook. Students should also bring a laptop or a tablet if possible to do research and writing. If you know that your child will not have access to a laptop, please let us know as soon as possible; we will do our best to have a couple laptops on site for students to share.

Walking Home & Carpooling: If your child will be walking home or carpooling for some or all of our session days, email gloryeke@lumosdebate.com with the following: (1) student’s first and last name, (2) the dates of each day your child will be walking home or carpooling (3) state that you are giving permission for your child to walk home or carpool. Please email gloryeke@lumosdebate.com this information at least one weekend prior to the first day of your session.

Absence policy: If your child will be late or absent at any point in the week, please let us know as soon as possible by email (gloryeke@lumosdebate.com) or by text/phone (781-474-3359). See you soon!

Waiver and Release: Please open this PDF waiver and send a signed digital copy to gloryeke@lumosdebate.com. You can also print the waiver, sign it, and then take a picture on your phone and send it to us. Click here for the waiver.

COVID-19 Safety Procedures and Protocols: In accordance with Massachussetts and New York state guidelines we will be recommending but not requiring masks. This is subject to change based on CDC guidelines at the start of camp.

We can’t wait to see you soon!
