Learn Public Speaking in a Fun, Friendly, and Exciting, Environment!
Our Young Speakers program is a great way to introduce your child to public speaking and communication! Students will explore an idea they’re excited about and write and deliver their own TED-style talk. Along the way, they’ll learn to organize their ideas, tell engaging stories, and speak with confidence and expression. With plenty of practice, students will build skills in voice projection, body language, and eye contact while bringing their ideas to life for an audience.
This high-energy, active program is filled with fun speaking games and activities! Our friendly, encouraging instructors make public speaking exciting and help every student feel comfortable participating. Your child will grow as a writer and speaker, build confidence, and enjoy a memorable summer experience!

5:1 Student Teacher Ratio
We group our students by age and experience into classes of twelve with two teachers per class. Having a small class size is absolutely critical for making sure that every student gets to speak - even our shy or more reluctant students. The 6:1 student teacher ratio also means that our instructors really get to know each child's strengths and weaknesses and provide targeted coaching throughout the week.
Build Confidence through Practice!
At school, public speaking can be scary, intimidating, and high pressure. At Lumos, we take the exact opposite approach. We want public speaking to be fun, easy, and familiar. We incorporate lots of fun speaking games and activities into the curriculum so students can really have fun as they practice public speaking. Lumos provides a low-pressure environment, where your child has the space to experiment and really find their own unique voice!
